Myprotein Mypre Review
My Review
I used Myprotein's MyPre for just under a month using it as a pre-workout. I was very excited to be chosen to review MyPre just before its launch, for which I used the "Blue Raspberry" flavour. What struck me about it initially was the smell. It was fresh, strong and penetrating.
Looking at the ingredients, I can understand why Myprotein describes its main benefits as "anti-fatigue formula, improves performance, continual focus". It combines an impressive concoction made up of creatine, caffeine, amino acids, vitamins, beta alanine, L-citrulline malate, L-arginine, D-aspartic acid, agmatine sulphate and betaine.
On taking a scoop and mixing it with 400ml of water it turned to a radioactive blue colour, it smelt great and had a strong acidic/berry taste to it. It dissolves almost instantaneously leaving no power-y remains. It most certainly was very refreshing having not had anything like it before, and with time I grew to enjoy it. Within 25 minutes I started to feel "pumped" and focused, I was going to the gym every time feeling rejuvenated and ready to lift big. After 15 minutes I assessed my concentration levels and found it to be up by 35% compared to my initial score which is quite a significant improvement. The makeup of it is unique in the sense that it lets your body produce more adrenaline as well as stimulating it at the same time. Nothing too unpleasant at all. As its effect fades away it becomes a gentle decline back to your normal self. No crashes or anything of the like; which is great.
Overall, a very effective pre-workout that works in a variety of ways, probably the best I've had in a while!!
